Welcome  :) As Wet Feet commented just get out there and ask landowners for permission. Do some research on your local area, find some places with a bit of history, find out who owns the land and ask them can you detect.

Good luck

Welcome aboard and may we wish you happy hunting and every success in your new found hobby. Most ( but not all ) beaches are free to detect on. All you need is a Crown Beach Permit, which can be downloades free on the internet. Oh, and your detector!   :D

Be prepared to dig ring pulls and foil first before you can find relics  ;D
