I couldn’t make my mind up this morning Beach or Freshly cut pasture…. Well the pasture won. And I’m glad it called lol. My first ever Roman Fibular within an hour of this nicely cut field. In the main picture you can see a lead spindle whorl, YES ANOTHER Cat’s eye… 2 Thimbles, A George 2nd and 3rd Penny, A lead pot seal As you will see from the pictures it looks a good one. I have had lots of buttons and lead (Not In Pics). I need a couple of ID’s Please there is some kind of flowery fastener and this strange ring woven out of wire Don’t think its Silver thou. I am having a guess at one of your finds, the item to the left of your buckle. If it is fairly thin, I reckon it could be a Bristol Token like the picture I have added. It would have 'CB' in a circle on the one side and a ship sailing out of a castle on the other side. A rare token and is said to be the first authorised token produced under Elizabeth 1st.

A nice late 1st C fibula, I have my doubts on the square item being a Bristol Farthing (sorry Jon) as it looks too big and also seems to have what is the vestiges of a rivet? I would think more along the lines of a strap fitting (fixing plate).
I would get your twisted wire in foil and check the smell, last year I had one ring and what is thought to be a piece of decoration from a brooch that both look awfully similar and are both silver. Your piece is a slightly odd size but could well of been attached to the frame of a brooch/buckle. I have done the Silver foil test but is smells muddy oldy and a little eggy if you know what i mean lol. I have a feeling maybe both of you are thinking about/referring to this token shown in picture, the round one? Am I right? If so, then that is not the same as the square one, the square version is like I said the very first token issued, the round one was issued many many years later, for any coin collector or token collector rather, this type is what will begin the collection. Here we go, some info on the square version and more learning for you guys LOL. "This token is discussed by Williamson (1967: 241, no. 21), where it is identified as rare and possibly the earliest English trade token, the license to strike them having been issued by Queen Elizabeth (AD 1558-1603). Dickinson (1986) dates the token to AD 1557-1583". I have been fortunate to find 3 of these, both in my village, and one in Yatton, you know where Chef! They were struck on long strips of copper alloy, and there are 1-2 examples been found uncut, thereby having four tokens on a strip. And that is why they are square due to being struck on strips, and so were never shaped round, just merely cut up. And seen what you mean about the rivet part, possibly right there Chef!
