Title: Restoration Intaglio - Wraxall Rally 2011
Post by: ysbytymike on January 20, 2012, 03:59:03 PM
I found an intaglio at this event but as luck would have it, it was quite badly cracked although still in its frame. I subsequently photographed it on arriving home
as I realized how fragile it was. This fragility I'm afraid took its toll on taking it to my local club to be looked at by our local finds officer.
It was returned in many tiny fragments as the unit had dried out and just disintegrated. But as i mentioned, I had photographed it beforehand.

Enclosed are four images taken during the restoration of the image as far as I can make out from the existing photographs. There is obviously some artistic
license here as some of the material had fallen out into the earth but looking at it logically, this is what I think the image might have looked like before the damage.
