Title: Good day out Post by: doddy10 on December 22, 2011, 10:34:26 PM I am working nights this week, so was very blurry eyed at 10am this morning after 3 1/2 hours sleep getting up for a days detecting.
We went to a new site for us and had a wonderful day in the warm December sunshine. I had a very nice charles 2nd hammered, cut quarter,dagger pommel ? musket balls etc. I counted my finds at the end of the day and had 80 different targets, mostly lead... not bad from a site worked by other detectorists for many years :) My detecting buddy had a hammered and a roman, plus lots of other bits. One field was very rough plough, once that has been flattened it should make a interesting days detecting. Assuming I cannot squeeze another days detecting in over Christmas then it was a great way to end the year.
