Obverse: View of Swansea Castle: "SWANSEA HALFPENNY 1796". Reverse: Large key suspended on knotted ribbon: "JOHN VOSS DRAPER &c.". Edge inscription: "PAYABLE ON DEMAND", the rest engrailed. John Voss was a linen draper and mercer with a business in the Market, now Castle, Square, Swansea. He died in October 1818. Reasonable collectable condition from rusty obverse die, see photograph.
