Title: DIY Silver testing Post by: Radnor Bandit (Ian) on July 25, 2011, 03:33:33 PM I know this has been mentioned on here before (but I cant find the posts at the moment), could anybody tell me how to do quick silver test. I know it involves baking foil .

If it's silver it will smell of rotten eggs (sulphur). This only works properly if the silver is "good" silver and it must have some tarnish ie. silver sulphide.
