Title: Lightbulb moment explorer 2,ring,coins,bullets!!! Post by: Jassy on June 19, 2011, 07:59:13 PM Popped to the beach this afternoon after paying my respects to my dearly missed Dad.
We had been there a short while and Fayes batteries were dying in her ace and she wanted to go, I hadnt found anything up until then ,only a few fishing weights.... I said let me dig this and then we'll head off...started digging bullets, loads of them, then coins and then mega deep down a little gem of a ring, its marked h.g &s ct &silver, looked it up and its h griffiths and sons ,birmingham.they operated between 1850 and 1910. had a look under the magnifyer and theres a teeny little band of stones on one side.Its teeny and clearly a childs ring, but I am absolutely chuffed with it. The best part of it was I had that lightbulb moment with my explorer and everything fell into place (about time too). Faye found the little sixpence in the pic...... wooohooo!!!! The bullets are all 303, the round nose one's date from the 1890's, they were quite short lived and had been replaced by the pointed version around 1900.
