Title: Re: Dungbeetles Denarius Post by: b.buoy on October 05, 2015, 07:25:11 PM Super coins and brooches.
If the denarius is that early it would surely indicate the brooches were about the same time ? Now could that mean that the loser(s) or the manufacturing workshop were actually roman soldiers and not Brits or Celts who were living alongside the occupying forces? Just a thought, that's the earliest stuff I have ever seen from North Wales. I bet Mark Lodwick and Clwyd archaeological trust will have a field day with this. Title: Re: Dungbeetles Denarius Post by: Dungbeetle on October 05, 2015, 07:33:16 PM Super coins and brooches. The brooches are are quite a bit younger than the denarius, more like the Hadrian coins age. The coins remained in circulation for many years hence the wear. It would be interesting to see where the denarius had been before it was lost.If the denarius is that early it would surely indicate the brooches were about the same time ?
