Title: OUT WITH MY CTX 3030
Post by: wayno on December 30, 2012, 09:00:50 PM
Went out today on the field I found a sovereign on about 18 months ago.
This field in all fairness as been done to death and I mean done to death as you can imagine at least 6 other detectorists have detected this field all trying to find another illusive sovereign,
So me and my dad decided to hit it one more time seeing if the Ctx could find a Sovereign and guess what.
No don't be silly but it did come up with a George III 1816 Shilling in brilliant condition.
The signal was sharp and clear screen saying 12:45 6 inches down. I then called my father over to put his machine the minelab se pro over the signal he got a signal 00 30. I thought it would be a coin and he was thinking it could be a can or maybe a pop top.

On my Etrac 12:45 would normally be a old penny 12:40 would be normally be a milled silver.
In total we had just 5 coins and only 2 of them being pre decimal the other pre decimal coin was a vicky penny giving me a signal of 11:35 at 7 inches.

Honest Thoughts on my new CTX 3030.
1.Found it very easy to use probably due to using a E-trac previous to this machine.
2.Very stable machine no falsing even though the fields full of iron.
3.Weight of machine found it to be lighter than the E-trac no fatigue at all
4.Very accurate on depth
5.Really enjoyed using it

The feature of the Gps system impressed me to. The 2 finds that found I pressed find button on the machine. When I came home plugged the computer to the machine and my finds were on the map on my computer just where i had found them.
no more worrying about where i find things all being recorded as i go along.

WILL POST PHOTO OF BULLHEAD SHILLING LATER

That's a great start (along with your hammered from your other post) - I'm really interested in your reports on how you are getting along with your new machine.
