had an afternoon session with neil yesterday on a field that has produced 20 roman this year , managed another 2 but the area we are desperate to search is still covered in some sort of plant/crop , can anyone id the plant please and when it will be cut , if at all

Hi Mike. It looks like a general wild flower seed crop. I know you can buy these seeds both in small packets and commercial sizes. I'm surprised they're still in flower so would'nt hazard a guess when it will be cut.
On the other hand, praps the Farmer has planted them for his own set-aside. If thats the case he will leave flowers to set seed and die back on thier own.
I know SSI sites can only be cut twice a year and have limited grazing.
