Title: Phantom signals
Post by: 1morecoin on April 15, 2009, 02:26:01 PM
I was out on monday with the f75 and had a good two way signal which i can only describe as sounding like a spring (boing), when i put the machine into pinpoint mode there no signal at all, i even moved some of the soil, the signal was still there but i still had no signal when i went into pinpoint mode, i left it there and carried on detecting, later on i had another 4 signals like this which i left in the soil due to not being able to pinpoint ???
I remember the numerical display moved about a bit on these signals and stayed up in 97-99
This is only the second time i have been out with the f75 so i am still learning.
Any ideas?
Also i had a couple of soft two way signals which left no numbers on the screen, which i also left in the ground, maybe these were very deep and the machine could not work these signals out :-\  i might have to go back and check these again.
Any help would be appreciated.

Steve.

Hi Steve, I agree with Mike, these signals are usually deep iron. My settings are usually similar to Mike's.

Thanks,

Steve.

dont use any disc or notch. i hated mine at first all i dug was coke and iron i was ready to sell it after 2 months i'm glad i did'nt now. it's a very sensitive machine that has very good depth (unless you use one you would'nt belive how deep they are) and dont miss any targets. look at the gear maxine finds with her's   enough said   mike

Anything that hits 96-99 is almost certainly Iron.
