Nice one Myke

Lovely little coin

Chester mint as well, not sure but I don't think it is one of the rare ones, but as I said I am not 100% sure

My offering from Today

When I emptied the contents of my finds pouch in to the sink and washed all the mud off of everything this little one was in there. it is a little toasted, one side is gone completely, but you can see on the reverse Romulus and Remus with the wolf. I also had a couple of copper halfpennies.

That's what gold fever does to you...plus needing to justify to the wife why I spent more on the detector than I did on her car lol,

It's always nice to find those earlier sixpence - and really great when they are quite nice and a provincial mint too!

That is a very nice sixpence Myke and, as you say, it's in great condition. A satisfying find I would imagine, especially considering the conditions.

I haven't been able to get out for a while due to various commitments but the coming weekend and next week are mostly free - your photos and those from Scara are getting me all itchy and desperate to get out so thanks both for posting them.
