It's a very clipped Durham penny of the second reign of Edward IV, I think probably Spink 2118, if there's a V in one of the quarters with pellets (looks like there is to me), or Spink 2117 if not. The clue is in the small crosses above the crown.

A nice bloke with a keen interest and the patience to seek out positive results is dedication not sadness. Wish i could be as dedicated. ;D ;D Mind you when i do try and find id,s for stuff if i go quiet for more than five minutes my 5 year old will pounce on me and want to know if i am all right. I am sure you don,t get those conditions.
