Just thought I would introduce myself to you all I have been interested in detecting for  few years now I have had A machine for around 6 years but never really used it, as I am A very keen shore angler that's were the name (congerman) is from , the machine I  was using was   A lone star over the last few months I have been spending more time with my detector than I have with my fishing as I only live 2 mins from the beach my old machine was hard work + very temperamental on the beach  Undecided so I have just purchased Another machine its A  GARRETT EURO ACE  350 I do most of my detecting with Another member of the site  eddythefly  he has spent a lot of time with me showing me were I was struggling to find  items also I am now  getting used to the machine the different tones + settings  as I have only had it about  x3 weeks I have found A Lot of scrap nails , large bolts ,ring pulls  +A bit of  new money with it and x1 old  Pennie I have hopefully  got some  advantages as I spent  a lot of time over the years  getting to know my local  beaches fishing + digging bait ( nearly every day) for example were are  the gullies +hard sand, rough ground,, tides+ weather + were to go at different states+ sizes  of the tides since I joined the site I have been very impressed  with it as it as helped me with some questions through reading  the forum + articles I would now say ,I am now addicted to it and when I have more experience with my new machine I am going to do more  dry  land detecting  Wink

Welcome to DW congerman. I'm sure you'll enjoy joining in all the discussions and banter. Sounds like you could give some of us some tips on beach detecting but likewise there are many that will help with any problems you may have with detecting inland.
Happy Hunting.
