A couple of years ago, me and OzzyHeadSteve decided to knock my two downstairs rooms into one. As if that wasn't hard enough, we ended up plasterboarding from there, into the passage, up the stairs and all the landing. DIY is like an onion. You peel back one layer only to reveal another one.

I need a nap just thinking about it.  Roll Eyes

as some of you know i am renovating my house as it was a wreck when we bought it six months ago, my mrs is "helping"
Here is a list of a few things she has "helped" me with so far.

leaving a new large box of open filler out side over night in the rain.
used my good, shiney, totally flat plastering trowel for scraping off wallpaper.
used my only sharp wood chisle for gardening(planting bulbs).
unplugged the vacume cleaner instead of the wallpaper stripper then left the room, burnt out the stripper and nearly set the house on fire.
managed not to clean out all 4 of the paint trays or rollers(because its easyier to buy new ones!!!!) Same with all the paint brushes.
Decided on a expensive set of bath taps with the phone like shower thing on and now doesnt like them.
Dropped my makita cordless drill and smashed the battry. (£50 for a new one)

i could go on...lol

And she wonders why its not finished yet!!!!

kaister good tip for using paint roller. put roller tray in black bag- pour paint into tray and use as normal- when finished painting tip any excess paint back into paint tin-take tray out of black bag (no need for cleaning) -turn black bag inside out (paint residue on inside of bag now)- go to pub while wife cleans roller !

Des works fine mate , use it all the time. keep black bag tight around open end, masking tape's ok. weight of paint keeps bag flat to tray.
heres a great tip for cleaning roller:-
get a cheap roller frame/arm, or an old one. cut it about 2" as it comes out of roller brush, to the end of the straight bit (before it turns to a 90% bend).
Then when roller needs cleaning (assuming you are using water based emulsion paint) fix the cut roller frame with paint covered roller brush to drill. dip paint covered roller in bucket of water, stick roller and drill in black bag..e.g.the one that you used for the roller tray, pull drill trigger.
centrifugal force throws paint off roller into bag. repeat a few more times.
.....or.......
print these instructions off, give them to the wife, and go to pub 1 hour earlier  Wink
