out today with nobby and ian.i was just about to give up on a 700 acre farm we had been detecting on only for 2hrs..i get board very easy.lol..i just thought its to big and a bit out of the way we not gonna find much.i sat down i was ready to go home.when nobby walked up to me and put this possible brooch in my hand..soon made me come around.we are 95% sure it is..but its not good enough.we need to be 100% sure if we are going to return.if it is a roman brooch that would be great news as we only tried 4 fields there.s another 35 left.lol. cheers. ray Title: Re: I.D on possible roman brooch Post by: handyman [Alan} on July 13, 2012, 05:44:19 PM yep -- 99.9% certain its roman.

So wanted it to be a roman brooch, but alas was not to be, in the end we thought it might be part of a georgian (or georgian styled) door knocker!
