Hi lads, I've just about landed after the rally, My wife and I arrived Friday afternoon about an hour before Rob, I went round to Rob's pitch and he was just starting to erect his tent/mansion, I gave him a hand and all I can say is if it wasn't for the kindness of the lady on the next pitch explaining where all the poles go we would probably still be there now trying to put it together.
We had a great weekend and the barbie Saturday evening was brilliant-great food and superb company.
I didn't find much but hey we had ace weather and it was great to chat to old friends.
We stayed an extra night on the campsite and it was quite sad to see all the empty pitches and the fields devoid of detectorists on Monday morning, bit like a ghost-town.lol.
My wife Sheila isn't into detecting (strange woman
) but she enjoyed herself chatting to some of the folks on the rally and she said what a friendly bunch we all are.
She would also like to thank the lads at the barbie for making her feel welcome and also the kind comments about her kebabs...roll on next year!!
Richy.
