Also I presume you know the purse and its links are more than likely silver.

Thanks guys! I was pretty happy when I saw it stuck to the bottom of the clod!

The half sovereign is a young head Vicky 1885.
The purse is silver I presume, can't find any hallmarks though.

Also found this close by. It's got b'ham hallmarks 1817 c usher
