Nice find

Think it could be Philip v of Spain milled 2 Reales astareen
Struck in Spain and commonly circulated in the colonial america at a value of 20 cents

Nice coin though

An unusual find - very nice. It's a 2 reales of Spain, dated 1721, Madrid mint.

Thanks for the id Peterh ;)
I must admit it looked like a foreign coin in the hole but I thought it was junk! wasn't till it was out I realised it was properly a hammered ( my first) confirmed by the old spit & rub test. As I said will clean it up & get pipster to take some more pics.
cheers ;D
Fred

It is a great find Fred, but it's not a hammered, it's an early milled coin.
