Title: Detech Coils
Post by: jaydogg on October 13, 2015, 05:03:24 PM
Anybody have any suggestions on how to repair broken Detech coils? Both of these have broken in the usual place where the wire meets the coil. If not going to have a go removing the resin and seeing what I can do. Both these things have lasted less than two years each, the build quality is………hmm.  Not sure why I keep buying them. Cheers

All their coils have a two year guarantee so send it back.....as far as I'm aware they aren't repairable if the lead breaks :-\

Do they? Didn't receive any literature to that effect Geoff. Don't have the original receipts now but, I have kept the receipt/invoice for Detech coil number three which i have just brought. Guess I'm a sucker for punishment. Would it at least be possible to 'drill' out the resin, re-wire the electrics and re-resin the coil? I may as well try otherwise they're going in the bin.

If you have a debit/credit card statement or paypal record you shouldn't need a reciept.
"The searchcoils are standardly equipped with excellently fitting cover, and have two years full warranty"

I've never heard of anyone mending one but have a go if the only alternative is the bin ;)
