Title: Odd cut george
Post by: jonnietaz1995 on March 10, 2014, 08:53:55 PM
Evening all, just finished cleaning these two, the button was caked in crud, lots of time to clean, it says labor omnia vincit, the George v half penny is the odd one, looks like it has been cut, and bent to make a type of fan shape, just wondering has anybody come across, or know what it would have been used for, cheers.

The button is from the Pioneer corp (the spade gives it away) the coin is a bit odd it looks as if it would turn with water/steam, any marks on the other side?

no geoff, no marks on the back, it is well worn though, prehaps some sort of toy, a bit stumped.

I was going to suggest - make do and mend.  A bit like turning silver coins into rings. Strange there isn't a hole in the middle though.

Well cleaned button, nice find.
