Title: v3
Post by: cronge (richard) on December 14, 2009, 05:58:50 PM
hi all, decided today to treat myself to a whites v3,i get on well with the dfx so thought i would go for those extra few things attached to v3,have read quite a lot of reviews on the machine and most
seem posative, looking on here the other day after rjm asked for any info on them i was quite disappointed to see that nobody seems to own one,or could,nt be bothered to reply.i remember seeing one being used at a rally i attended, but he,s possibly not a member of this forum,so anyone out there with a v3 i really need all the help i can get, many thanks cronge

Cronge to say that nobody could be bothered to reply is a bit harsh, you answered your own statement when you said nobody seems to own one, that's it exactly it....nobody owns a V3 so how can we comment on it?

You won't be alone cronge, RJM has one on its way too,
I'll be interested to see how you get on, i almost bought one , but went with the e-trac as my quattro was doing the biz and i'd committed to some extra coils and stems already by then. On paper it seams a belting bit of kit, with infinite program capabilities limited only by your imagination!
Other than the initial very high cost, i can't figure why they aren't that popular, other than they have the ability to be very complicated if you get carried away. i think there a technophobes dream, a laptop on a stick, almost :)
perhaps the V3 owners keep quiet cos their on to something good and want to keep it to themselves ;) you never know.

Mine is due tomorrow.

I'll let you know how I get on with it. I had an XLT for years and it was a nice machine.

The V3 is very versatile and is supposed to be a whizz amongst the iron and has various programs
for various situations. The XLT was a detecting icon. The V3 is White's top machine and has built
on that success and DFX, so it must be okay! ?

Personally I think it was pricey when it came to the UK and was up against the E Trac so sales suffered. Now
that the price is £1K (spread over 24 months on 0%) it's affordable so it's selling and being talked about more.
The field test in TH last month helped too.

Let me know how you get on.

hi ray,  i also have a dfx and there is quite a learning curve with that,so i expect that i shall be using the v3 on the factory presets for quite a while,i also bought a xp goldmax power and only used it
twice, could,nt get on with it at all, hopefully sold now,  the only things i liked about it that it was so light and the wireless phones, i would,nt be without the dfx now,its a real silver machine,so i thought i would upgrade again with v3,and hopefully get a little more depth, plus of course wireless phones, will keep you updated,  cronge

Looks like a V3 revolution going on :)
I think RJMs is turning up today also,
If so i'm going out to play on the weekend with him,so we can do a bit of comparison against my E-trac, should be interesting ;)

Still waiting....almost midday and it's not here ! :'(

Salty.......you can dig my deep signals

and I'll dig the shallow E T ones !! ;D

I haven't bought it for the depth but it's versatility. It's a turn on and go machine
or laptop on a stick......it depends on the user. Oh, and that colour screen....
cordless headphones...  lightness .....dream on you E Trac users !! LOL

(Got mine from Detecnicks as I don't like J A.  Laura at Detecnicks did me an
excellent deal on 0%.)

I'd get a tracking number of Laura, see if you can find it.

I've got the tracking number for UPS

but all it says on their website is that it's in TRANSIT!

About as helpful as a chunk of iron ontop of a gold stater!! ;D ;D

I've already downloaded the manual and read a few times.......plus watched piles of V3 videos...........plus downloaded programs/advice/tips etc..

All I want is the damn machine. I was hoping it was going to be here last fri/sat but she sold my machine as someone walked in with cash!! ........and then had to order another in which arrived Monday.......which she immediately got out to me.

I remember waiting for my E-trac that JA sent to the wrong address :o Idiots,
The tracking number i had said "in transit", when it arrived i thought it should have read "same weight as a TRANSIT"  ;D ;) (i still love it though" :)

I don't believe that :o they've done it to you as well ::)
I played merry hell with them, i had to drive to Parcel Farce (correct spelling) in Newport cos it was on its way back to them, having stayed in all day waiting.
They did send me a Lim lock foc for my troubles, but you think they'd take more care, after all, they got the address correct for the credit application form!!
