Just took my Minelab Quattro out of the shed and turned it on. I'll rephrase that....TRIED to turn it on. Nothing. Not a glimmer. It is an Ex Parrot...I mean detector.

Never had one die on me before!

when things go wrong it's a pain m8, just been given an old c-scope 2200, the fella that gave it to me said he could'nt get it going. Put new batteries in it , it came on and shorted out straight away Huh, found there was a broken track on circuit board, in the middle of trying to solder new connection Tongue.
Anyway good luck Jon, let us know if you get it up and running, Ace Wink

I don't know if it's worth getting it repaired or just buy another one.

Jon, Double check and clean the connectors on the battery holder, both inside and out, and the ones down the handle in the detector, if these have had the battery pack dropped in, instead of slid in, they can stick down and not make proper contact.

My father in law is an electrician so he can take a look at it. If its nothing simple I'll send it to Minelab to repair.

To be honest I have no transport so don't detect more than once a month...or two months! so I spend little time detecting due to circumstances. Not having a detector doesn't impact on me as much as most detectorists  Wink
