this would be in working order the control box has been separated from the stem etc.
the idea was to hip mount the control box and have a battery belt in an effort to have an easer swing the three components are coil lower and upper stem handle plus control box.
someone could carry on the conversion or use it as spares I'm open to offers its hard to put a price on it pm if interested regards.

The box is not bad, i think id have used an aftermarket straight shaft and kept the power with the box.
 did you get any interference from the extended cables?, i see you have a ferrite on there but it should be screened or twisted pair.
good on you for having the gonad's to have a go.

as far as i can remember it works better when detecting in a lightning storm lol I'm sure someone could make use of it.

I Remember Ian aka Gadget doing something similar
He took off the top section complete and attached a sling to it and fitted a str8 shaft to the coil (i think)
Maybe Ian could explain better lol

I converted mine into cold hard cash to buy something that was lighter and easier to use lol
