Title: Re: Pendine Post by: dragonsbreath(Paul) on July 28, 2017, 04:29:25 PM Can you detect pendine beach nowadays.ta. As far as i am aware the left hand side of beach clearly marked is forbidden....as its M.O.D. Area The right hand side of beach was ok but its been some time since i was there so best to check first..Paul. Title: Re: Pendine Post by: dingdong on July 28, 2017, 05:39:34 PM Hemm!!.....good question !!...as far as I'm aware its still a no go area..the problem is/was that a great deal of unexploded ordnance has been discovered on a fairly regular basis.
If it were me,I would stay away, there's plenty of other beaches around to detect on..plus you could save yourself a fairly hefty fine !!....good luck, and good hunting..👍 Title: Re: Pendine Post by: Val Beechey on July 28, 2017, 07:02:43 PM Might be worth checking it out with someone at Carmarthen Council.
As you go down to the beach from the car park the LEFT side has been banned for a number of years and was patrolled by a man on a tractor who would tel you to 'go away'. The right side was always open to detecting but closed a couple or so years ago, after a big storm uncovered some ordnance. Could well be 'open' again by now.
