No idea if it some kind of blade it does narrow down to what could have been a blade edge. Or could it just be a bit of scrap.

Looks a bit "sword like" !!!what size ?it always helps if you put some kind of measurement,ruler,etc,could be a very nice find,if it is a blade you should notify your FLO...👍

yeah I will notify them as soon as I get home from work. it looks like its snapped.
 I was walking down one of my permissions as the farmer notified me, because of the bad weather we had, it revealed part of a roman road and it was just laying around near that area eyes only find
 the area is also played a major part in the 1845 welsh civil war. and a battle between the royalists and Parliatarians,
it does look broken its 170mm long, 35mm high and 5mm thick

I don't think fantasy novels constitute reliable research material Cheesy

I presume it's iron? if so then unfortunately a knife blade has remained virtually unchanged for a couple of thousand years from Roman legionary to a 20th C boy scout plus all the odd bits of farm machinery that, when rusted, can look like a knife blade Undecided
