I would see a coin specialist regarding the halfpenny, as you say it's a very rare one so don't clean it whatever you do and get advice regarding stopping the bronze disease. Keep us informed Wink

NO! lol....If it's too late then so be it but if it's in there then get it out asap. coin collectors want examples without any treatments or waxing as it will drop dramatically in price Wink

British 1862 bronze Halfpenny (Victoria)(die letter C to left of lighthouse), circulated but still in good condition, might fetch anything from £700 to £1,500 GBP.  another one...

Very well found Hammered. Can we see the whole coin. I see a mint condition one can fetch £4,000 and a circulated one in fair condition anything from £150.
Just a coincidence but when I was having a tidy up earlier today I picked up an old half penny, that has been sitting on the window ledge for months, and chucked it in the box with the other greenies. After reading your post I dived back into the box and yes here it is. I reckon it's got to be worth................HALF A PENNY  Grin Grin
Praps next time eh ?

The only coppers that come up around here in that good condition are George V. any others are usually worse than the one in my pici.
Your soil is very kind. Nice coin, good find.

The bronze disease will effect the price but a coin expert will know where to get it treated, given how rare these are I would think you're still looking at more than most gold staters are worth Wink
