I have been tnld it's a 10 sol coin of Louis xiv. At first I thought it was an Anne due to the date but a nice different coin all the same. Ta for id Probono

I just looked it up. 10 sols is the same as 1/8 ecu   Grin

I had forgotten about that Will, but it wont be Louis iv that would be far too early. I found a Danish 4 skilling 1728 last year, there must have been a lot of travelling done then

                I attended a lecture at the Talacre community centre last year and the guy giving the talk said that North East Wales produced a lot of sailors during the years of sail. A great many sailing ships also anchored off the coast here; whilst their cargo was offloaded.

Where I found mine there are people alive now  who haven't even been over the Brittania bridge  Cheesy
Their ancestors must have been more adventurous.
