snake buckle

hi all, got out for a few hours today in the rain and found the following buckle. is there any way to date this? only other finds i had were various coins from the 50's / 60's, but have had hammereds in a few fields nearby in the past. thanks

Hi Sharkey, When i was a Kid in the 50,s a snake belt was a must have item,you could not join the gang if you didnt wear one.But i think they where copys of something a lot older,A nice find.

Nice find sharkey, its probably Georgian/Victorian 19 century...... when you cleaned it did it have a head at each end joined by the neck, or is it a snake?
