Hi, I bought a old Whites surf master for £80 and found a 22ct gold ring on the beach with it that payed for the machine,
but if there's a lot of junk on the beach you'll end up digging all day.I went on Swansea beach opposite the uni and found loads and loads of nails done my head in. Embarrassed

ok geoff / celticspikey i did a test   ( not very scientific i will grant you )  explorer se wot 15"  just on the ground an air test in other words

single gold coin detected at about 9"- 11"      hand full of gold coins detected at about 18"  the signal was different but still would of dug it

i also did exactly the same with silver hammered coins ie a  single coin and a handful  same result

so if this holds true for buried coins the set up would detect a hoard deeper that a single coin

Roll Eyes It wont lol FBS will not air test  realistically as it has to be in motion relative to the ground to get a base (mineralisation) reading from the ground matrix....I give up Cry

I've found stuff so small that I struggle to find it with a probe after I've pull it from the hole. The PI can find microscopic size items, Shocked either that or my eye sight is getting bad.
