Title: Three legged something ?
Post by: simon c on July 06, 2009, 08:12:54 PM
Found this Yesterday, not sure if it's a lead three legged stool from a child's toy ?,or some sort of votive object,i have seen a couple of votive cauldrons in Bennetts Artifacts, any ideas would be most welcome. Its about the size of a modern fifty pence piece, with a flat surface on top and three legs supporting it ?.

Strange little thing that simon, lead is always a puzzler, would there be a Roman presence in the area? Would think it difficult to put a date on that one!

it does look like a mini cauldron, but i think it could be a lead casting jet.
