Went to Ians farm yesterday only the second visit there as its been in silage for some time. ITS MASSIVE!!! took my GPS and we detected 6.7 miles.

I had 2 musket balls
Silver Airforce button
Decorated Dandy button
Heart shaped locket/Pendant
George iii blank (slightly oval)
Big Spindle whorl .

I'll let Ian add to the post Cos I cant remember what he had in all . I know there was a Roman coin and a love token amongst it.

Pics to follow.

Rob,tried some reference sites on buttons & the closest i could find to the one you found & quite similar is a tunic button of the 2nd Dragoons(royal Scots Greys)displaying the French Eagle.Dating to between 1877 & about 1950.

Just the loop fella, no description r maker on the back. Did a silver paper test and did feel like a chemical exchange , bit of heat and eggy smell , not as strong as a hammered reaction though

silver plated livery button, if it was military I think it would only have one crown! Nice and unusual one though think by the size it must have come off the cuff, worth recording maybe?
