Went out today at about 12.00 . wanted to get some more practise with my new S.E.F coil on my DFX. Looks like I'm getting the hang of it now finds rate has increased , bearing in mind the land has been detected heavily by Myself and Ian Gadget.

20 buttons
1 Musket ball
1 George V Half penny
1 George iii half penny , blank.

Simon apparently the castle on the coin is Neath Abbey , dont know if the button is linked with it or not.

Mole , Jury is out with the depth , I suppose I was getting deeper finds , but  the sixpence was only down 2 inches (stubble field) What I will say is that I felt more confident that i was covering more ground with each sweep. Watch this space!

Nice find Rob

My Neath sixpence found in Monmouthshire had a hole in it

Nice to see such a nice one

Think they were minted around 1817, when a lot of silver was being replaced by copper coins, but the workers preferred silver, therefore silver tokens were given.

Well done Rob, you are pretty damn good on winkling out the silver, impressed with your finds and knowledge with the machine after only a short while detecting.
I hope you have one of those heart stoppers quite soon , you deserve it  Cool
