Only problem with that idea is, if it were made in France it would say "Fabriqué en France" not "made in"

Hi Eric i noticed some lettering at the  bottom myself but couldn't make out what it was .The  coin seems to be showing better detail  in photos than in the hand I'm  frightend to try and clean it as iv got no experience in this.I'm off work for six days maybye its time to waterproof up and hit the fields again cheers.

Hi Mark, killing a bit of time betweenshowers and looking for something like your coin. Nearest I've got so far is one on here. George on one side ship on the reverse. Might give you some ideas.

Cheers Val could be possible to be from that time I'm so impressed with the help people here are willing to give on this site big thanks all .Had couple of finds today including a world war one royal engineers cap badge a  button with welsh feathers on two vicky coins and to top it off man flu you ll never know.

Hi all little update on coin  Swansea museum after almost a month got no idea . Next step some coin expert from cardiff is taking a look on Tuesday so crossed fingers I'll know very soon.
