Hi all,

I joined the forum recently and have been catching up on some of the posts as and when I can.

I'm out in the Ponterwyd area around 12 miles from Aberystwyth. I've had a Ace 150 for around two years and have only just started to get out and about with it. I'm on the learning curve still trying to research my area. luckily I know and get on with many land owners so have access to 100's of Acres of land mostly covered in old mines which are peppered all over the place here. My results are varied, not much luck on the beach as yet. Managed two silver finds one 1942 sixpence from a small wood and a small silver heart probably from a necklace which I found when testing in my front garden.

A have a number of finds on an old earthworks at Llys Arthur which is from around 600AD to 700AD (Best guess) a totally worn and very thin coin totally unreadable, a possible medieval pike head but needs cleaning somewhat to find out as its well and truly caked in corrosion amoungst other items.

Oh well that’s me and I’ll be lurking around to see what I can glean from the forums.

I am moving to Machynlleth in mid November From Australia ,would love to join a Metaldetecting Club but they are a long way from Machynlleth worst luck . Would like to meet up with you one day for a chat and a Beer lol ,I am new to Metal detecting but hell i love it .
