Title: 2 finds today from the hammy field Post by: chantalpoole on July 06, 2014, 04:51:43 PM only had an hour but i got these 2 bits today.one is a silver George Stockwell watch back stamped 925 london import mark and letter date 1915.
The other i think is a 17th century shoe buckle ?? might be wrong but it looks like a very early shoe buckle. Title: Re: 2 finds today from the hammy field Post by: Chef Geoff on July 06, 2014, 06:09:44 PM Well done Chantal if it is a buckle and there are signs of a crossbar which if iron would date it post 1680 so more likely 18th century but what is nice is that the orientation is wrong for a shoe buckle and it's probably a breeches buckle (think of the Bobby Shafto nursery rhyme) so far more unusual ;)
