Considering the amount of people there the finds were limited in what we like to find.

I had 6 Georgian buckles, 6 buttons (one gilded with a crown), about 18 bullets/shotgun ends, one very worn Georgian penny, and an old clothes fastener.

The weather was dry albeit windy. I enjoyed the day and the company of RARE members (Us Scan club members huddled together in the middle of the coach).  Lucky Salty got his money back on the raffle prizes he won alone!!! never mind the french hammered he found.

Mick Turrell (Leisure Promotions) gave us a look at the new XP Deus and demonstrated it's in air ability on Salty's hammered by rattling it around in the coins plastic box. Impressive! Neat how it folds up and how ultra light it is, and can be operated without a control box! It's out in the middle of November.

I don't care what people say, they certainly seem to have better weather in England. Maybe it's because they
pay higher Council Tax? Undecided

All in all a good day but not as good as the Cardiff Scan rally where Steve had a gold coin! Still my dream after all these years.

there was an unfortunate incident at this rally...a person suffered a heart attack....he was attended by a paramedic on the field until an ambulance arrived...they took him to hospital...at the end of the day i asked mick turrell how he was and he said he was ok and he will update us when he gets more news...lets hope the poor bloke is back on his feet soon....i'm sorry i'm the one to post the only negative point about the day....i hope to post some pics of my finds when i clean them up......byron

That is very sad news Byron, I had that trip in the back of the ambulance at the start of the year, Thinking its your lasts minutes on the planet, not knowing if youl see your wife and kids again? It is the scariest thing you can ever imagine.
Who ever it was m my thoughts and best wishes go out him.

Yes Thanks for the update. I never saw the ambulance or heard anything about it whilst there.

I can only think it was quite worrying for the chap and all those assisting him. Hopefully he's
ok.

A bit of black humour, but what caused the heart attack?.........As far as I know no gold
was found!  (apologies)
