Did any one catch a snippit on the Welsh news this morning about a new phone App. that gives you site information on every Archaeological site in Wales.(or was it just Dyfed ?)
The App has been prepared by Dyfed Arch.Trust but I can't remember the name of it. It was a Welsh name. I assume it'll work on I.Pads but they didn't mention them. All I heard was that you can zoom in to the exact location of each site, virtually to the inch and get info. on it.
Could be a useful tool to help avoid being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Shocked Roll Eyes Wink

Val

Found it on Wales on line. It's ARCHWILIO and it is the whole of Wales. NOT available to Apple users !!!
1st time I've shown an interest in Johns latest toy and he can't get it.  Huh

Hi Val,
Had one of the GATT people demo this to me several months ago, whilst helping to give a show on MD in Swansea Museum.
She did mention that it was only available for android. (no apple app).

Don't know if its Apple that's stopping this being developed for their products but their cutting their own throats if they are. I bought into
the 'Iphone' for the superiority of the camera but other machines are just as good now, and if Apple are not allowing other devlopers to use
their platform, then I will be looking elsewhere when it come time to renew my phone.

John has just bought the new Apple phone after buying an Apple I.Pad. And now, of course, he's had to have an Apple Comp. Very sore point in my book.
(I was criticised for paying £1.90 on a bra strap extension)

I was very tempted to criticise his Apple but thought better of it.(At last, something the Apple wont do)  Your right about not being able to get that App from the Apple Store.  Shame , that's what I say. There's going to be a lot of people, not just detectorists, who will be upset about it.
I inherited Johns old smart phone because it's takes excellent pics. but as far as I know it wont take Apps.

Tried to download this app last night, but it kept stalling. Probably because everybody was downloading it yesterday after the talk on the news. Can't wait to try it out, it looks amazing  Smiley

Simple if you've got an up-to-date phone Dave. I opted for pay as you go 'cause I don't use mine much, so no internet connection and no touch screen either. Cry  Thought it would be a good excuse to use the wonderful Apple Pad. Ha !!

Yes Mike £1.90 all because M & S are cutting costs by making things smaller.(Honest not me getting bigger) Embarrassed       Can't imagine why John should be checking that cost but he found a pack of 3 for £1.50.

It's O.K. Dylan you can believe your eyes. Wink
