Been out with Ian (Nomad) today. We answered a SOS from a shoot in North Wales where Ian has helped out. Someone using an old vintage gun, a week or so ago, had lost the hammer off it (see pic the hammer is the S shaped piece and on this particular gun was engraved and ornate). We were told it was in a 100 yard section but when we got there, found it was a big field, very marshy, plenty of deep grass but some smoother parts. Gave it an hour and a half and were about to give up when Ian gave me a shout.
                       He'd found the piece lying on the surface in one of the few short grass areas. I was relieved as my will power was ebbing away by that time. The owner of the shoot was delighted and texted the owner who lives in Belgium. He has promised 'any price you want to name' for the piece. Ian drove home wondering how he'll spend £50,000.
               Stopped at a beach on the way back, new to us. We had a few coins and I had a silver hallmarked ring.
     Nice day, despite the rain.
