I regard some of you guys as my friends, so I hope you can help me..

I have suspected for some time that my wife has been seeing another man.

There are the usual signs - she works late a lot, goes out with 'the girls' more than usual and when the phone rings, the caller hangs up if I answer.

The other night, hid in the shed, next to my metal detector,,,,,after midnight, determined to catch her out !

Sure enough, she got out of a car I didn't recognise, buttoning her blouse up. She took her knickers out of her handbag, and put them back on.

The tears welled up in my eyes, and that's when I noticed a crack in the double d coil

Is this something I can weld or will I need to replace the whole coil.

OH MY GOD MATE!!!!!  best bet is to replace the whole coil but carry on using the old one until it is no longer usable. always best to have a new as backup anyway. Grin

Cant believe it, the shed is no place for your detector, should be stored safely in your bedroom like mine is.   Grin

sadly these things happen all to often , thank god you discovered the problem at home and not 3 hrs down the road at a rally , a damaged coil would have ruined your whole day  Roll Eyes Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Wink Wink

Sorry to hear about your problem, a double d with moisture in its crack will only reduce your detecting time, go get a new model.
