Title: Clam Shaped Crotal Bell- Info & possible date (now with Pic) Post by: Junkman on December 24, 2011, 02:25:42 PM Hi Guys
Long time no post but i've finally got out with the T2 fir the first time in a year at my sisters place where im staying for Xmas. I've just found a perfect Crotal bell in the shape of a Clam Shell. No Camera for photos though. After Googling Crotal bell images and then looking through 23 pages of Crotal Bells on UKDFD ~I can't see one single Clam shaped bell??. Any idea on where I might find some info on the bell? I've got a feeling it's 1700s and later but surprised there is not one single image ??? That is a beauty, well found. I've never seen one like it before. Are there any makers marks anywhere? Even more oddly, I found a small pewter bell as well??. Now that is spooky on Xmas eve finding two bells!!!
