E-Trac guys and gals, how you getting on with them?

It would be interesting to know how you are getting on with them, my impression has been that they are the best minelab so far, is that the case  (ps can't afford one myself, that's why i'm being nosey)

From the minelab stable, I started off with the early Sovereign (a fabulous machine in its time), then the Explorer II and now the E-Trac.  I think that the E-Trac is far better balanced and lighter than the Exp II.  The signal on a target is very clear, depth is good (as far as I want to dig  ) and I really enjoy using it.  Great on wet sand and land - no chatter.  Only had one occasion where pylons and telegraph lines gave interference that I couldn't get rid of - even changing the channel manually - on the bright side, though, many peeps with their various minelabs had trouble in the same spot.  No gripes about it at all - I could just do with a modification from "gadget" (Ian) to fit a little x-ray device so I could get an idea of what the object was before digging it    I will be happy with this machine for a long time now.

It is undoubtedly the best machine out there at the moment in terms of depth, it does all it says on the can and more and is as easy or as difficult as you make it.

Now on the down side, It still has that awful Minelab audio channel, far too heavy and unbalanced, steep learning curve to get maximum performance, but I love it.

Debbie, what do you mean "in it's day" about the Sovereign they are current? I still use the Elite for beaches and it will give the E-Trac a run for it's money on pasture.

You can run the E.trac without discrim, just by sound alone and pick small non ferrous in amongst iron because
of its quick return.

another downside to the explorer range is the recovery speed or lack of it.

My intro to minelab has been with the e trac, first day out on ground i had been over with a dfx I dug a hammered ferdinand& Isobela Real so I was kinda sold, but have not ventured beyond preset modes.
