Will there ever be a beach detecting rally by detectingwales.com ? Are there organisational problems that arise with the location? Personally I think many members would like to gve it a try one day. Any opinions anyone?

Yeah I would support that to Geoff. Be nice to do something different. I would have thought finding a undetected beach would be a problem though.

Seems like a few people would like to give it a go. Any logistical reasons against it? I know Paul is right and most beaches are detected regularly but tides are a wonderful leveller and whereas on land coins settle deeper until a good ploughing a good tide or storm can throw up stuff just as well. I'm up for it!

I have a Minelab Quattro and have read several reports of it being excellent on a beach...so fingers crossed.

Kev, Allan you guys have never detected on a beach!!!. hey guys you dont know what you've been missing. me and bea chboy went out yesterday. Bea chboy had 41 fishing weights!!!!! amongst other goodies. i had 17 weights and a lovely gold ring with 3 diamonds in......broke in my hand later back home tho ( see "diamond tester" in general disscussions).
anyway plenty of fresh air, sun tan and dip your toes in the briney sea awaits you when you go to to the beaches. you guys gotta try it.
as for not sure if your machine will work properly Mel, almost all machines will be fine on dry sand. wet sand is slightly diifferent tho..what machine have you got?

I've no objection to a beach rally but I'll need to look into the legalities. Then we'll need to find a suitable beach.

I spent most of my 10 Years Detecting beaches its great fun and easy digging !

This time of year the  best time to detect is on a warm weekend just as the Punters ops sorry People are leaving
you would have to pick a beach as big as Aberavon or Swansea Bay not to upset anyone.

Parts of the Welsh coastline is owned by the CROWN ESTATE you need to Check there website before you plan a Rally.
The crown estate used to Charge £15 per Year per beach for a permit .
The Charge was dropped last year but you still need a permit for the beach you intend to detect on
I havnt head of anyone being Fined and ive never had a permit Just something to be aware of

Fight the Power ! lol

I Find the beach a great change from the land from time to time for modern stuff. much easier than the land for those who haven't done the beaches.

Done a few over here from time to time ,  and in Spain when we went on a club ralley for a week,  lol,

The club usually have a winter one when there is not many people on there,
