I'm not quite sure why you think people who record don't show the land owner? My farmers get to see all finds they also get the finds back complete with record sheet. As I've always said which may sound ironic recording is voluntary and if a person chooses to not record after making an educated decision so be it but to not record on the basis of unfounded fears that is where the travesty occurs.
But lets rain this back in a bit lads as the original post was a helpful one

There's been some valid points raised on this thread by a few people, I won't stir it up any more other than to say that I have had a message of the Wales FLO to say that one of our club members has recorded a previously unknown 17th century token so it does help mapping historical areas and finds.
