What a great day out with TheLoveDoc, thanks again fella, great days detecting and as normal a good old laugh as well
We arrived at the field about 8:30 and by 8:45, i was lucky enough to find a little hammered love token, quickly followed with a cartwheel penny.
Coins were comeing up right left and centre, half penny's, penny's etc, until Doc said " funny we have'nt found any buttons ", that stopped my coin run, from there on it was buttons for me lol, or thats what i thought.
Doc found a lovely Vicky widow head joey, what we think is a forged sixpence, lots of pre decimals, and a William 3rd sixpence, which unfortunately had a fight with the plough, a great shame as it was full of detail
, he also found a nice cartwheel penny, stamped as a one penny token
Last night whilst cleaning my finds, what i thought was a button, turned out to be a Locket, i just had to open it lol. Inside was a picture which looks victorian in date.
Here's the locket with picture.
