Sharkey is deciding on find of day, and must be won this week.seen franks hammie and thumbelinas thimble.rogers silver half crown and dereks roman weight, and Indian coin, any more offers...then its over to the shark.

Lovely coins though, Rodge, my dream coin is a lizzie half crown....live in hope...

Title: Re: Club dig today
Post by: sharkey on July 05, 2015, 09:32:41 PM
Ah yes the bullet incident, I expected to turn around and see bits of bodies scattered all over the field!  :o

See this is why it needed a vote, even Stevens! The rarity and quality of the thimble vs the age and condition of the cut half. After much thought , my vote would go to the thimble, but it's a real close call.

Any more votes?

right, to avoid the ongoing drama of all this, i have decided to award the prize to Paul and the thimble. the hammy is a cracking find and on it's day would win any find of the day prize, but with the more experienced members of the group saying how rare a find the thimble is in our area , its only fair to award it for this.

Paul, the prize has to be worn every club dig for 1 year, whether rain or shine  :D

i shall be attending the next dig in a bulletproof vehicle, in case of attack from the hammy crew  ;D

and the next find of the day will be decided by Sepp Blatter as usual   8)

see you at the next guys

sharkey

The hammy was a great find but that thimble was in such good condition and the lovely patina, I would have been made up to have found that.
