Recently one of forums had a NCMD rep come on to give a question & anwser session, which proved to be very enlightening. I wonder if the forum could do something similar.

Interesting idea Geoff. Would the whole genre be covered. I am still very interested in the time team / archaeology thread and would like to know their stance on this plus a million other things. A good idea to run it as a thread as you will need control over it discussion will get heated, of that i am sure.  ;)

Come to think of it Geoff here are a couple of guys who would gladly help if there was a storm brewing.

Does anyone know if you can join either of them online or is it cheque only? It seems a rather long drawn out process this day and age. I am used to just clicking buttons.

from what i read on detectorists forum the ncmd are like mp's they cant give a straight answer and when they were pushed into a corner over a question he started moaning. waste of space

That is unfair Mike. The NCMD representative was invited on the forum - initially as an experiment - which has  been a great success. Remic (the rep) has answered all questions in a frank, efficient and engaging manner. I think the NCMD as well as detectorist.co.uk has found the alliance mutually beneficial. Certainly NOT a 'waste of space' as you so eloquently put it.  ;D

Well John wether Al is right or wrong he is very entitled to his own opinion of things
and also entitled to post them as he has done,  this is called freedom of speech and
although i dont class myself as eloquent i support his right to post as he wishes.
It is quite fair for you to respond with a counter point of view without making a meal of it.
So please present the facts ( as you see them ) and let others make there own mind up.

All I did was give another point of view. Was that so wrong?

I do not intend to get drawn into a debate with you john just pointing out that other peoples opinions are just as valuable as yours....so end of.... 8)

I think a Q&A would be a great idea , if we whitewash everyone constantly, how we ever going to know when they've changed their attitude.

Since originally I put this up. I knew quite a few of the founder members of NCMD personally and without their efforts,there would be no hobby.today. So lets invite todays spokesman from NCMD to answer questions on the hobby .and where it goes
