I haven't got a detector yet but can afford any of these two, but which is best.......please help

the options are:

Garrett ace 150 for £138 or a Lander XD50 PRO (ex demo) for £129

I think I want to buy new so i have a warranty. I'm thinking of getting the Garrett Ace 150. I know it's not the best but if I decide i like metal detecting I'll then maybe upgrade

go for the 250 if at all possible, bought a lander for the missus - it was bloody hopeless Angry took it back and traded in for an ex-demo 250

My advice would be to buy the Ace 250 rather than the 150 if you can afford it
The reason being that the 150 does not have a pin point mode whereas the 250 does.otherwise there is not a lot between them although the 250 does have a couple of  additional discrimination mode settings

When you are proficient with your detector you'll find that its not too difficult to pinpoint in normal motion detect mode but when starting out you may find it frustrating at first pinpointing tiny targets without a 'pinpoint' mode on your machine, particulaly if you do not have a Garret Pro Pointer .

Both the Ace 150 and Ace 250 are excellent value for money and are capable of searching surprizingly deeply.

For the money there really isn't anything else to consider.
