Have two weeks holiday,so can get in plenty of detecting.

Week one has been a bit disappointing  Angry

Was out yesterday with John and his lucky streak continues, after finding a George 1 gold guinea at a rally, he found 3 large hammered's, i had a blank day

Today I did a little better finding a Charles 1 half grote, John finds another large hammered and a small Charles 1 half penny.

With 3 of the large hammereds been Elizabeth 1 sixpences i strongly believe there is a scattered purse loss in the area,i will be back tomorrow hoping to find a gold one

Just been told the hammered is Charles 11 so it has to be either a penny or a two pence, as i do not think they minted a half a grote in his reign

Just been told the cufflinks are Queen Anne,so nice and early ones  Grin

And the hammered is Charles 11 so it has to be either a penny or a two pence, as i do not think they minted a half a grote in his reign

Rob think you are correct, spinks do not list a half grote though, they state it as a two pence
