When I found A 1860 Viccy Penny last week I thought nothing of it until I picked up my Spinks Coin of England and realised that  this was the year the Penny changed from copper to bronze and after 1860 until her death in 1901 there were 98 different versions of the Penny. In 1860 alone no less than 15 different types appeared.
Though as metal detectorists we usually find them in poor condition I have witnessed some fine examples appear from the soil and If you find One in a good condition just maybe take a little look to see what you got. Mine turned out to be a 1860 obverse 3 reverse d type , but some of these Pennies though used do have a value. Keep em peeled.
